As soon as I want to stop, I think about my family. To my aunts and uncles, to Nadja, and to all the other IS victims. And then I fight again. For justice, for recognition of the genocide and for better rights for my people. Because if the Yazidis are right, then I'm right too.' tells Wahhab

In the summer of 2014, IS invaded the Sinjar region of northern Iraq. The aim was to exterminate the Yazidis, a community with its own religion and an ancient culture. It has been seven years since the 74th genocide of the Yazidis began, but only recently was the genocide officially recognized by the House of Representatives.

Facebook, Telegram, YouTube, WhatsApp and other social media networks contributed to the genocide of the Yezidis by Islamic State (IS) in the summer of 2014.

IS used social media networks to spread fear and gain more power. This horrific terror group has managed to conquer 1/3 of Iraqi territory. After taking over large cities such as Mosul and Anbar, IS began invading Yezidis areas on 3 August 2014.

This terror has killed tens of thousands of Yazidi men and the elderly, children and women were kidnapped. Children were trained to carry out attacks. Yezidis women and girls were enslaved and trafficked between IS fighters.

On social media networks, such as Facebook, YouTube, Telegram etc, Yazidi girls of sometimes 8 years old were traded by IS fighters.

Human Trafficking is forbidden by the International Law and falls under the United Nation 's so-called ''The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) prohibits''. Yet, these big-tech companies have failed to prevent IS slave trade ofYezidi women and girls.

The contribution of these big-tech companies has enabled IS to allow online slave trade of Yezidis, Christians and other minorities to take place. NL Helps Yezidis legal team has investigated this and collected all evidence and put it in a report. The entire report and research can be found via this link. The report has been translated and is available in several languages, including English, Arabic, Greeks and German.
